The chair consists in an ebonised mahogany wood veneer-plated-plywood embracing structure with three highly black lacquered tilted legs and leather seatcushion. This set is from a early 1980s edition, made in Italy, from, 1984.

Costes chair is globaly recognized as icons, that in 1984 marked the beginning of the partnership between the French designer Philippe Starck and the Italian manufacture Driade.

Designed for the homonymous Parisian café that no longer exist, owes its timeless success to the absoluteness of forms.
