It was at the Copenhagen Arts and Crafts School that Jørgen Høj studied alongside Poul Kjaerholm. Originally from a training as a metalworker and upholsterer, he nevertheless used wood as the first material in his first works produced in association with Poul Kjaerholm.
It was from 1950 that Jorgen Hoj became independent by opening his first interior design office. Then he decides to be one of these new designers who mainly work in metal and leather.
